An uncrafted diamond Ganesha idol wows devotees

The Asodaria family in Surat owns a Ganapati idol which is a rough diamond that they imported 10 years ago. The specialty of this rock is that it resembles the Ganesha figure. The diamond was brought into India after its discovery in the mines of Africa. The family even got the Indian Diamond Institute to certify that this particular piece of diamond has never been processed or polished. It is kept in a safe deposit vault and is to be brought out once a year on Ganesh Chaturthi day for worship. CNN-IBN takes a look at this 185 carat Ganapati idol on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi.
