Delhi stray dogs to be sterilised ahead of 2010 games

And amid efforts to build the game venues on time, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has taken up a drive to sterilise over 2 lakh stray dogs in the capital. Stray dogs are no strangers on the streets of Delhi but with the Commonwealth Games just round the corner, the state government is on warfooting to uproot the canine menace. Armed with a budget of Rs 11 crore, the MCD plans to sterilise all the stray dogs in the next one year.
