Jet Airways lays off 600 cabin crew, execs

Saddled with mounting losses, private air carrier Jet Airways has reportedly laid off more than 600 cabin crew and customer care executives to 'service' its expansion plan. "We have laid off some 600 cabin crew and customer care executives to cut down on cost and service the expansion," sources at Jet were quoted as saying. The move comes a day after Jet Airways entered into a strategic tie-up with liquor baron Vijay Mallya-promoted Kingfisher Airlines. An official statement from Jet is pending.
