Vodafone Essar cuts roaming charges

Third-ranked Indian mobile operator Vodafone Essar has cut charges on calls made outside a user's local coverage area, the latest step in an intense price war in the world's fastest-growing wireless market. Under the plans announced on Friday, users can choose roaming charges of either 70 paisa per minute or 1.5 paisa per second.
