Karambir Kang, general manager of Taj Mahal Palace and Tower in Mumbai, lived up to his name on November 26, 2008. Through a 60-hour siege on the hotel, he worked to save his guests and employees. He went on and on, without tiring. He helped to save a thousand guests but he couldn't save his wife or children. "They just don't make people like him anymore," says a childhood friend of Kang. That is the reason Karambir Kang is Forbes Person Of The Year.
