Ethnic Indian Samy Vellu loses in Malaysia elections

In Malaysia, the Abdullah Badawi-led ruling coalition has made its worst electoral showing in decades. Though the ruling coalition got simple majority in the 222-seat parliament, it lost 5 of the 13 states to the Opposition. As compared to 19 seats in the outgoing Parliament, the Opposition has already won 64 seats this time.
