
The gloves are off in the fight between Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Left Front over alleged links with Maoist rebels. Banerjee, chief of the Trinamool Congress, on Sunday said there was no difference between Maoists and Marxists. Marxists must be banned too if Maoists are, she said at a press conference in Kolkata. Banerjee was retorting to West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacherjee, who alleges the Trinamool has links to a Maoist-backed group.
