The jail superintendent made the denial in reply to a Right to Information appeal filed by Nalini's lawyer S Doraiswamy. The meeting between Priyanka and Nalini reportedly took place in the Vellore Central Prison on March 19. In fact Priyanka herself confirmed that she met Nalini. Nalini's lawyer's contention is that the reply from the jail superintendent was sent on April 11 and that he received the details of the RTI on April 22 and that too after reports of the meeting were published in the media.
