Govt says now medical institutes can't refuse treatment

Top of the line hospitals - super specialty centers and medical colleges - none of them will now be able to refuse emergency medical care to any individual regardless of whether he or she can afford the treatment or not. According to the new clinical Establishment bill that has just been approved by the cabinet- institutions found to be non compliant will have to pay a hefty fine of Rs 10 lakh.
